Florida Power & Light allows you to start a new service, stop an existing service and transfer a service – everything can be done online. To open a new account, you will need information including your service address and social security number.
When opening a new account, you may be required to secure your account with a deposit. This depends on your credit history. The deposit amount is equal to two month’s suspected occupied home electricity use. Your deposit is refunded if you keep your account in good standing and your account has been open for at least 23 months. There is an alternative Unconditional Guarantee / Guarantor Contract available for certain applicants.
